Dementia Action Week is 19 to 25 May, and our Older and Vulnerable People’s (“OVP”) team is reaffirming its commitment to supporting those living with dementia and other vulnerabilities.
Our team provide specialist, compassionate, and effective legal support to vulnerable clients and their families. We’re trusted by local authorities, professionals, and the public for our deep understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and our dedication to placing clients at the heart of everything we do.
Legal assistance for the moments that matter
This Dementia Action Week, we’ll be offering pro-bono assistance at local care facilities. Our advice will cover wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and care funding, ensuring our community has access to crucial legal support and peace of mind.
Understanding dementia
Dementia affects over 944,000 people in the UK, with one in 11 people over 65 affected. It’s important to remember that dementia is not a disease itself, but a collection of symptoms caused by brain damage from diseases like Alzheimer’s. Symptoms vary but often include memory loss, mood changes, confusion, and difficulty finding words.
How our OVP team can help
The Older and Vulnerable Persons team at HCR Law exists to support and advise vulnerable and incapacitated individuals, their families and carers on a range of legal issues.
Even with dementia or other vulnerabilities, individuals can still make decisions and plan for their future. Our team helps clients ensure their wishes are respected, providing peace of mind for them and their families.
Our dedication to vulnerable clients is rooted in both expertise and empathy. We’re a trusted resource for those facing the challenges of dementia and other capacity limitations. During Dementia Action Week and beyond, we remain committed to providing compassionate, effective, and comprehensive legal support.
