Going from strength to strength in London, Harrison Clark Rickerbys inc Sprecher Grier (HCR) is expanding its employment, international and technology teams, as well as boosting its banking, finance and corporate expertise to meet increasing client demand.
HCR merged with Sprecher Grier 18 months ago and has since built on its existing outstanding restructuring and insolvency expertise. Employment partner Oliver Weiss is the latest addition to the team – with a focus on contentious work in the Employment Tribunal and the High Court, acting for both employers and employees, he offers a combination of strategic advice and dispute resolution expertise.
Taibo Wang has joined the firm’s international team, working alongside Nicolas Groffman to continue to develop the firm’s strong links with China; he brings both corporate and commercial skills to the team.
Partner Dan Hyde has joined the technology team – he has advised a wide range of bodies and individuals, including the UK Law Commission and global mining and oil companies, focusing on practical and commercial advice to deal with innovative and fast-moving technological developments. He has authored and co-authored several books, on cybersecurity, blockchain, cryptocurrency, data security and modern financial regulation and is Visiting Professor of Law at Queen Mary, University of London.
As client demand has grown, so it now draws HCR team leaders to London – Harry Bengough, Head of Banking and Finance, has moved from the firm’s Cheltenham office to create a new team in the capital, as has Richard Wilkey, former head of the Cheltenham office and their corporate team, who will establish a new corporate team in London while maintaining a foothold in Gloucestershire.
Sam Payne, head of the London office, said: “18 months on from the merger, we are in new premises and are rapidly finding that clients want more from us, so we are growing in response to that demand.
“I’m delighted that, in such a challenging year, we are still growing and developing our teams to make sure that we keep giving clients what they need where they are. I welcome our new arrivals very warmly and I look forward to Rich and Harry planting our flag firmly in such a major market.”
