When a client received a draft inspection report from Ofsted rating their service “Inadequate”, they approached HCR Law’s Healthcare Regulatory team for guidance, advice and understanding.

After speaking with the client, and following a comprehensive review of the draft inspection report, it became clear that Ofsted’s concerns were not substantiated by evidence, they had misunderstood the service provided, and the way the inspection took place was left wanting.

The Healthcare Regulatory team drafted a robust, detailed response to Ofsted highlighting the factual inaccuracies contained within the inspection report, enclosing copies of relevant documents.

This resulted in Ofsted agreeing to revisit the premises and conduct another inspection which resulted in the service being rated ‘Good’.

Nicola Wheater, Associate in the Healthcare Regulatory team, said: “This was a positive outcome for our client. It can be difficult to know what to do when faced with a report of “Inadequate” from Ofsted; I’m pleased our expertise meant we were able to get this reviewed and subsequently amended.”
