Focussing on businesses in Cambridgeshire, the new start-up support programme will provide £25,000 of legal advice to the business judged to be making the most impact, along with up to three runners up who will each benefit from £10,000 of advice.

Impact55 is open to early-stage businesses who are using technology to create a positive social or environmental impact. To enter, businesses will need to complete a short online application and submit a video explaining the impact they are making.

HCR Hewitsons is embedded in Cambridgeshire, having had an office here for over 170 years. The firm regularly advises scaling businesses on all aspects of business growth including funding and investment.

Inger Anson, Corporate Partner leading the firm’s early-stage deals practice, said: “I really enjoy working with high growth businesses and supporting them to achieve their potential, throughout their business journey. At HCR Hewitsons, we have a clear commitment to making our own positive impact and part of this includes supporting the wider Cambridgeshire business community. We hope that the launch of Impact55 will allow successful applicants to move their business forward. Along with funded legal advice to help with their current business needs, they will be able to take advantage of our experience and have HCR Hewitsons as part of their wider team.”
