Meet the Family Law Team – Victoria Fellows

Next in our meet the team series is Victoria Fellows, Partner based in our Birmingham office. Victoria has a wealth of experience advising families to ensure their financial future is secure.

1. What first attracted you to a career in law?

I enjoyed legal dramas and thought life would be like Ally McBeal where everyone would look glamorous and fashionable all the time, that there would be a karaoke bar under the office and every case would be different, cutting edge and fast paced. Although my everyday life is not quite like the fictional drama I once enjoyed, I find helping clients come to resolution incredibly rewarding and that has not diminished throughout my career.

2. What type of legal advice do you provide? And to what sorts of client?

I help people at every stage of their relationship. I provide advice when relationships come to an end and I encourage planning for the possibility that it may happen in respect of finance and children issues. I help couples who live or who have lived together and those with children who have never married or lived together.

3. What is your most memorable legal experience? And why?

My most memorable experience will always be helping parents see their children.as is helping the client who is in an abusive relationship break free and watching them recover and regain control of their life always reminds me as to why I find this area of law so rewarding

4. What is your number 1 top tip for clients?

Be honest with us. There is nothing worse than sitting in Court at a Final Hearing with your client admitting in evidence facts that they had denied passionately throughout the case. We want to make sure you are in the best possible position throughout your care and the only way we can do that is if you tell us everything.
