Meet the winner of Impact55: Spotta

The winner of HCR Law’s Impact55 competition is Spotta, who are using IoT technology to track where insect pests are present.

20% of food grown across the world is eaten by pests before it can be harvested.

By detecting pests early, the Spotta system allows producers to carry out targeted treatment, reducing waste and the need for chemical insecticides. With 2% of global CO2 attributed to insect pests, the impact of this technology is vast.
