A client approached HCR Law’s Healthcare Regulatory team after receiving a Notice of Proposal from Ofsted to refuse registration of a supported accommodation undertaking. Ofsted asserted numerous concerns regarding the undertaking including concerns regarding the Registered Manager’s knowledge of the regulations, suitability for the role and qualifications and experience. This was in addition to concerns regarding the maintenance of the premises.
The team drafted a robust, detailed response to Ofsted. This highlighted the client’s solid qualifications and experience within the sector alongside the current improvements made to the premises, so addressing Ofsted’s concerns.
This resulted in Ofsted agreeing to revisit the premises and conduct another interview with the Registered Manager to understand the current position at the undertaking and Ofsted thereafter granted registration.
