Passion for people leads to home-grown newly qualified solicitors

HCR Law’s latest group of home-grown talent has achieved newly qualified status after years of hard work. The firm’s Banking and Finance, Corporate, Dispute Resolution and Family Law teams all welcome new solicitors across its offices, following continued investment in growth.

Ben Reed, who joins the Cambridge’s Dispute Resolution team, said: “I joined HCR due to the wide range of practice areas offered to trainees, clear appetite for growth, and a commitment to quality training. I have completed positions in Real Estate Dispute Resolution – the team I am now joining – Restructuring and Insolvency, Corporate and Private Client.

“Each team has, in their own way, helped further my knowledge of the legal profession and enhanced my learning of the client-centric service the firm delivers. I have thoroughly enjoyed my training experience and look forward to life as a newly qualified solicitor at HCR.”

The growing London office welcome Mungo Graham into their Corporate team. Mungo, who will be advising businesses throughout London and across England and Wales commented: I joined the firm in 2021 as a paralegal in the Corporate team in Cheltenham. Through my time here I’ve also enjoyed positions in Commercial Litigation, Banking and Finance, and Restructuring and Insolvency, gaining invaluable experiences with each.

“I’m really excited to get started with the Corporate team in London.”

Deiza Kavanagh joins the firm’s Family Law team – one of the largest and most experienced in the UK – in the Central England office. After completing her law degree, she initially pursued a career in finance before transitioning to law in 2019. Reflecting on her journey, she shared: “I’m thrilled to be part of the Family Law team. Since joining in 2022, I have developed a wealth of knowledge and have met many individuals who have provided me with unwavering support throughout and advocated for my career progression.

“I look forward to starting this next chapter and being able to provide practical, legal and emotional support to my clients.”

Vartik Mehta also begins his career as a solicitor in the capital, becoming part of the Banking and Finance team. “HCR Law has really supported my career from the high-quality training to the support and encouragement to be part of and offer advice to matters with a degree of independence during my training contract. The training has allowed me to get a leading experience as I begin the next stage of my career.

In Worcester, the Child and Parent Law specialism within Family Law welcome Milly Munro. “I joined HCR as a trainee in 2022, having had a fantastic experience in with Family Law team. I’m very excited to be joining such a renowned team, and particularly pleased to be part of the specialist Child and Parent Law division.”

A number of staff who started as trainees at HCR Law have since progressed to Partner. Daniel De Saulles, who was promoted to Partner in 2024, begun his training contract in 2018. He said: “The firm nurtured me throughout my career; from trainee to Partner they’ve stood by me. The opportunities to grow have been frequent and the ambition and entrepreneurial ethos of HCR Law continues to provide growth opportunities.
