National Care Group, a leading adult social care provider in the UK, has acquired Bournemouth-based Apple House Limited, an established specialist accommodation and support provider in a deal acted on by HCR Law’s Healthcare team.

The strategic pairing of the two will see National Care Group working closely with Apple House, which has over six locations in the Dorset area, to build on their reputation in the region while strengthening their provision.

The deal was led on by Partner and Head of Healthcare, Rebecca Leask, assisted by the firm’s wider specialist healthcare lawyers. Following the deal, she said: “I’m pleased to have been able to bring these two companies together – they both carry out vital work in the social care community and I’m sure this partnership will see them continue to grow and serve the needs of those they work with most closely.”

Apple House has gained a reputation as a specialist in the accommodation and support space, helping adults with mental health diagnoses, acquired brain injuries and learning disabilities as well as those with autism.

In partnership with the NCA, HCR Law recently published “Adult social care: Steering through change” whitepaper, which provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities shaping the adult social care sector. The whitepaper was created with the support of HCR Law’s Healthcare team. Issues examined include the question of funding in the sector, impact on professionals, regulation and the opportunity to create a National Care Service.
