Deiza Kavanagh

Solicitor

Why choose me

Family law is about providing practical and strategic advice while also being able to provide emotional support. I enjoy building relationships with my clients and helping them to achieve a mutually-agreeable resolution which offers peace of mind while protecting their interests.

As a solicitor it is my role to help my clients navigate family law issues in a less damaging and more collaborative way so they feel in control of the process. Whilst some families require intervention from the family courts, the majority do not. Therefore, my aim is to foster cooperation, respect and transparency between those ending their relationships or navigating their new co-parenting journey.

Since many cases are not straight forward, I keep up to date with the ever-changing rules and procedures and think outside the box to find creative solutions.

I predominantly work with married and unmarried couples, those due to get married and parents as well as assist those going through surrogacy and third parties such as intervenors. My specialisms include divorce, finances on divorce, child arrangements, property issues for cohabiting couples and nuptial and cohabitation agreements.

Outside of work, my passions are hiking, travelling and exercise – to counteract my love for an afternoon tea – as well as trips to the theatre.

It can be stressful, complicated and overwhelming but an experienced team can guide you through the process. We can provide as little or as much support as you need, tailoring our advice to suit your individual requirements.

Yes! Our firm prides itself on offering non-court options to help individuals negotiate agreements, such as our Unified in Separation (One Couple One Lawyer) offering. Our specialists can advise on a range of options including alternative dispute resolution, and can provide a single lawyer to manage the process. Where necessary, we involve other professionals in the process, such as accountants, and encourage a more amicable process in an attempt to avoid stressful and costly court proceedings.
