Why choose me
I specialise in Private Client law due to the client-focused nature of the role; helping people to achieve tangible results such as tax savings and helping them to protect and control the succession of family wealth. Collaborating with other experts to ensure well-rounded solutions are received by the client, my approach puts your needs first. Being results-driven, I ensure things are proactively driven forward with clear and constant communication.
I work with a range of individuals, from soon-to-be first time buyers to high-net-worth individuals, to those with overseas assets and business owners. My specialisms cover advising on a full range of private client matters from tax efficient, flexible and protective wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and dealing with complex estates, to lifetime planning with trusts.
Outside work, I’m an alto singer in a choir and have performed all over the UK and Europe – I’m also currently learning to ski.

Questions my clients ask me
Although providing a definitive answer at this stage in not possible, once we have the specific details of your estate, we can assess the current situation and determine whether inheritance tax is applicable. If Inheritance Tax is payable, we can collaborate to develop a strategy aimed at minimising the tax liability of your estate.
The duration of probate can vary significantly depending on various factors, including the complexity of the estate, if Inheritance Tax is payable, any disputes or challenges, and the current timescales of the Probate Registry – at the moment this is 16 to 20 weeks. Generally speaking, it can take anywhere from a couple of months to several years to complete.
A trust may be an appropriate structure to assist in protecting your assets. A trust is where there is a distinction between who has the legal ownership and control of the assets, and who has use and enjoyment of them. The type of trust recommended will largely depend on what you’re protecting and why.
