Construction and Engineering Disputes

Sorting out disputes on your project requires expert advice. Our team of  construction and engineering solicitors, quantity surveyors, construction professionals and adjudicators, arbitrators and mediators will work across payment, delay and defects disputes using methods like litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation. We also advise on professional negligence claims filed against architects, engineers, surveyors and project managers.

Successful outcomes

Our clients operate across sectors like construction, education, financial services, and energy and renewables. They include main and sub-contractors, schools, universities, banks and property developers.

Whatever the dispute’s complexities, our solicitors and quantity surveyors will combine legal expertise with a commercial approach to give you the best advice for a successful outcome and provide a seamless ‘one stop shop’ service for dispute resolution. The team recently demonstrated this by preparing a sound claim for a sub-contractor who was owed money, resulting in a favourable settlement. We also worked together with our Insolvency team to support another client who had been threatened with winding up proceedings. After we challenged the value of the alleged debt, the other party withdrew the threat.

How can we help you?

Going above and beyond

Friendly and professional, our team will always go the extra mile, providing a service tailored to you and your needs. We are very much involved in, and a part of, the construction and engineering industry and our valuable advice is based on knowledge gathered through years of experience.

Going the extra mile is just part of that service – literally – as in one arbitration case where the defence barrister acting for our client fell ill at the last minute. One of our team took over, finalised the drafting of the defence, then drove over 200 miles on New Year’s Eve to hand deliver it by midnight!
