Obtaining domestic or worldwide freezing injunctions
A freezing order, sometimes known as a Mareva injunction, prevents assets from being transferred, converted or otherwise dealt with.
They are useful when you are bringing a claim against a person or company but suspect they may attempt to move assets before you can obtain a judgment against them.
A freezing order prevents the defendant from dealing with the assets and gives you priority over their other creditors if they become insolvent.
Our support gives you the experience you need to obtain the freezing order and ensure the assets remain available.
Advising you if you are subject to a freezing order
If someone is trying to get a freezing order against you, or you are subject to a freezing order, we can advise you on how to deal with it.
A freezing order will usually come ‘out of the blue’ and will typically lead to the freezing of your bank accounts, which will prevent you spending any money.
We act with the urgency that’s needed. We may be able to apply to get it varied to provide for the release of money to meet your reasonable living expenses and/or legal costs. We may even be able to get it dismissed.
